Full leather gym gloves are the choice for people who train heavy and train often. Leather grips a knurled bar better than any synthetic, and it does not go slick when your hands sweat — the point at which cheaper gloves become a liability rather than a help.
Full leather construction across the palm and back with an elasticated wrist. Sizes S to XL.
Why leather grips better
Leather has natural surface texture that increases friction against knurling, and it maintains that grip when damp. Synthetic palms tend to get slicker as they get wetter, which is precisely backwards from what you want on a heavy set.
Leather also moulds to your hand over the first few weeks and then holds that shape. Synthetic gloves stretch out and stay stretched, which is why they feel loose and start bunching after a few months of heavy use.
Sizing
Measure hand circumference around the widest part of the palm, excluding the thumb:
- Small — approx. 17–19cm
- Medium — approx. 19–21cm
- Large — approx. 21–23cm
- Extra Large — approx. 23cm and above
Leather stretches slightly with use, so a glove that feels firm in the first week will be right by the third. Do not size up expecting them to feel comfortable immediately.
Care
Never machine wash leather gloves. The drum action and detergent strip the natural oils and the leather goes stiff and cracks.
Wipe them with a barely damp cloth after training and air dry away from direct sun and heat. If they stiffen over time, a small amount of leather conditioner restores flexibility. For pressing movements, pair them with wrist supports; for heavy pulling, add lifting straps.
